FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here’s what
to know.
Clear answers about estimates, statements, fees, and what happens next.
No. It is a preliminary, nonbinding range based on the information you provide. A final offer requires statement verification, ownership review, due diligence, buyer or funding-partner interest, and written deal terms.
For a catalog sale, submit the most recent three years when available. If the catalog is younger, submit everything available. For an advance, submit at least the most recent 12 months.
Royalty statements from distributors, labels, publishers, PROs, administrators, neighboring-rights organizations, or other verifiable payors. PDF, CSV, spreadsheet, and clear image formats are accepted.
Not necessarily. Depending on ownership and market interest, a transaction may involve all rights, a percentage, a royalty stream, selected works, or a defined term.
A sale transfers a defined royalty interest or underlying rights in exchange for payment. An advance generally provides money now against a defined share of future royalties under agreed recoupment terms.
A longer earnings history can make future cash flow easier to evaluate. A young catalog may still be valuable, but recent hits can be harder to forecast and may be better suited to an advance or a more conservative structure.
It can, but never automatically. A catalog with at least three years of stable history, roughly $100,000 or more in average annual royalties, clean rights, limited track concentration, and durable premium-streaming income may support an illustrative 8×–12× or higher range. The market and diligence determine the final price.

Fresh Music earns a 15% transaction fee if a catalog sale, royalty advance, or other covered funding transaction closes during the 12-month exclusive term. There is no transaction fee if no covered deal closes. See the Terms of Service for the complete scope.
